As the battle goes on to protect my website from spam I was pointed by Dave Walker to this handy little program. Its a step up from denyhosts, and its pretty powerful. I have a regular expression set on to my log files for the blog which will automatically detect and ban a spammer's IP address from the entire server (IP Tables). If it works longterm I'll do a little write up on it. Today its banned around 150 IPs from accessing the server though!

Campaign Monitor have released statistics of the most widely used email clients. In a massive study they showed that the number one web mail client is (surprisingly) Yahoo! mail, with Gmail only having about one third the share of Hotmail and Yahoo. Disappointing to see Thunderbird barely scrapping a 1% share - I guess that remains one of the geek's best kept secrets =)
